Maharishi School in Fairfield, Iowa, was founded to bring Consciousness-BasedSM education to children from preschool through 12th grade. The school now serves as a model and inspiration for similar institutions around the world and a source of curricula and faculty training materials.

The tennis program at Maharishi School offers group and individual instruction for juniors (grades K-12), National Junior Tennis League play, USTA USA Team Tennis adult leagues, junior development drill and tournament preparation groups and racquet stringing.

2009 USPTA National High School Coach of the Year Lawrence Eyre is the school's tennis director. He provides instruction for elementary and junior high students, league supervision and high school team coaching. He is also summer tennis director at Camp Laurel South in Casco, Maine.

Lawrence is a founding member of Maharishi School, where he has taught social studies at the high school level since 1981. He started the boys' tennis team in 1988 and the girls' team in 1990.

The tennis facility has four indoor hard courts and six outdoor hard courts. The school also hosts a fitness center, running track and outdoor swimming pool.

Maharishi School players train without strain, incorporating twice-daily practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique into their training routines. The junior players have won 17 Iowa high school I-A state championships in singles, doubles and team tennis since 1991.
